Coordination model color override

Coordination model color override

I wish there’s a way to directly change the color of a coordination model from the Visibility/Graphic overrides under Coordination Models tab. This will make collaboration process easier by assigning a separate color for each trade like what we do in Navisworks.

It would  be convenient if users could override the coordination model's colors directly within Revit, making it easier to ensure accurate representation on drawings. This could potentially streamline the workflow and improve efficiency for architects and designers. Such a feature could offer more flexibility and control over the coordination process, enhancing the overall user experience within the software.

I fully agree with this suggestion and the reasons explained by @vitorbortoncello in another similar request.

It is necessary to have this feature implemented to reduce the number of different model workflows needed to overcome this issue. It will certainly reduce the VDC hours in converting NWD models to DWG or waiting for responses and goodwill from collaborators, to obtain the source files to help with the graphical representation.

If I am not mistaken, +/- 9 years ago, when Autodesk introduced the first experience of linking Navisworks models into Revit, this was possible. The issue was model performance, and perhaps that is why it was removed. But nowadays, this can certainly be possible again, can't it @kimberly_fuhrman-jones ? We need it badly! 😊

AFAIK, I don’t think this feature was ever possible since it was first introduced in Revit 2018. I still have Revit 2019 projects and it’s not there as well.

@haley ,

You can give additional feedback on this feature on our public roadmap. It is also available for testing in the Revit Preview Release as linked above.

Thank you for your feedback!
