Convert detail lines to model lines and vice versa is not possible in sections

This is quite the oddity, maybe even a bug?

Converting between model and detail lines is possible only in floor plans not in sections.

To convert lines in a section you have to group them, place them in a floor plan, convert them, regroup them and put them back into the section.

(we did not check elevations and suspended ceiling plans)

Yes you can if the lines drawn on a reference plane parallel to the section cut line.

Thanks for taking the time to submit your idea. Unfortunately, this idea did not get the support of the community over the last 6 months and as such we will not be pursuing it at this time. Please feel free to rework (titles and clear descriptions are really important) and resubmit this one down the road.
