Control Persistent Parameter Values When Duplicating Types

Control Persistent Parameter Values When Duplicating Types

Some of the out of the box parameters 'reset' when a Type is duplicated (e.g. Type Mark). Other parameter values remain the same when duplicated.

I would love the option to control this behaviour when creating new parameters. We have some shared parameters that we need for additional data, however, the value input into the parameter should reset if users create a new Type in project, much like how the Type Mark behaves. If the warning about duplicate values could also be replicated that would be great.

I'm thinking just a simple checkbox option for 'persistent data' or something similar when creating the parameter. Persistent data checked means duplicated types retain the value. Persistent data unchecked means duplicated types return to a default or blank value.

OR, a new parameter type entirely, "Non-Persistent Text", "Unique Text", etc. that mimics the behaviour of the Type Mark parameter.

This is incredibly frustrating. Couldn't agree more Dale. I'm thinking the same.

Dale, you've hit the nail on the head here.
