Component Family Type Separation Methods

Component Family Type Separation Methods

A way is required to separate component family's (plumbing fixtures, furniture, speciality equipment....). Any family created that is a non construction element is placed under this button. There is no top level relationship between plumbing fixtures and furniture OR electrical fixtures & kitchen cupboards....

Few options I have thought of are as follows:

Option 1: have a tick box whereby you can select the types of families that might appear in the component list. So for example I could place a tick on just furniture and speciality equipment, thereby hiding other families like plumbing & security..... from the component list.

Option 2: Plumbing and Electrical fixtures already have buttons under the system ribbon so remove these from the architectural ribbon component button

Option 3: Similar to Option 2. By click in the component button, it would bring up a temporary ribbon where by you would have a button for each type of component. In other words 1 for plumbing, 1 for electrical, 1 for furniture, 1 for security, 1 for speciality equipment......
