Have you used a placeholder sheet before? You can create new line items in a Sheet schedule, name and number them there, then when you go to create a new sheet, they are all listed in the bottom of the dialog where you select the border used and if you want a new sheet, or you can select one or multiple placeholders. This might work to solve your problem?
