Column Height Parameter

Column Height Parameter

There is no height parameter for columns. It would make it much easier to generate/filter takeoffs and schedules if some sort of Height property was available to use.

Walls have an Unconnected Height parameter that makes it very useful to use Revit to find the tallest walls for analysis. It would be nice to have something similar for columns.

Guys,

if you are looking the height parameter, in structural column schedule you have system parameter length which is the height of the column. You can also filter by the length(height).Try that..

But you are right it should be a parameter "the height" as for walls in instance properties...

How did you solve it ?
I dont wanna use an structural collumn cause of the heatred " move to bottom" of foundation , another stupid way to do things in Revit.

Yes I have solved it already you can add a reporting parameter for the
height of columns.

If  you open column as family, you put dimension on its height in elevation view, set length parameter on this dimension and define this parameter as instance and reporting parameter, then it will be visible in the project when you pick column.

Die Werte "Höhe oben" und "Höhe unten" fehlen in der Stützen Familie. Bei der Geschossdecken Familie sind diese Wert vorhanden. Für die Auswertung in einer Bauteilliste wären die Werte überaus wertvoll.

Imagine having a BIM software where you cannot extract the length of columns easily, lol

Autodesk should just add the built-in parameter (that is available in schedules....) like they do everywhere else? Why hide the data and make a simple thing so hard to obtain for everyone? Ridiculous.
