Change Model Group type without ungrouping its Attached Detail Group

When working with multiple model groups inside a Revit project, it should be possible to change the model group type without detaching its attached detail group.

The current behavior for model groups when changed is to ungroup the annotation from the attached detail group and place it back into the model. The annotation needs to be manually selected and deleted.

The expected behavior by the users would be either:

  • When the model group is changed, the annotation from the attached detail group is removed. The users can then decide if they want to attach the detail group to the model group or not.

or

  • When the model group is changed, the attached detail group is changed accordingly, or the user is prompted to select which detail group to use.
