I have successfully integrated budgets natively into Revit, using a category as a database. Budgets update in real time, and I can access all calculations related to a specific item, including labor costs and a detailed breakdown of materials, without the need for modeling.
This is particularly interesting when working exclusively in an Autodesk environment. I’m aware of existing budgeting software, but developing this functionality natively in Revit doesn’t seem as complex as it might appear.
If any developer is interested, I’d be happy to share more details, or if someone has already worked on something similar, I’m very eager to learn more about it.
