Bind Revit Link - Maintain Phases

Bind Revit Link - Maintain Phases

This idea was archived in September

Reviving it & hope it gets more love this time around!

As we are doing more and more work on our older Revit models, we really need this option.

When binding a Revit link it would be extremely helpful to have a "Maintain Phases" check box. This would also require a Phase Mapping dialog like we currently have in Type Properties for Revit Links. I guess this could just be a link to that dialog as the Bind command is working on a link.

Currently all phasing is mapped to the phase of the current view during the bind operation, which makes for big problems - especially for items that were set to be demolished.

Hi @Anonymous we are still in need of this!

Doing a renovation to a multi-story warehouse and needed one combined model of new and existing framing.      Did not realize I would lose phase or demo parameter after waiting for 3 hours for the bind to finish.    Now need to spend hours changing all the framing in the existing building to existing and set the specific framing to be demolished again.    Why is this parameter not copied over in the bind process?     Very frustrating.

We really need this. Why is this not built yet?

Autodesk wants to expand into the digital twin/FM market.  To do that, a reliable way of incorporating changes from project models into our as-built masters is critical.  More robust binding (including phase awareness) is part of that.

Much needed! Thanks @dan.stine for initiating it way back when and for your BIM Chapters resources. Hope we can make this happen!!

needed the same today, please implement the function in the next release, it would save a lot of time!

Please include this! It is insane that Autodesk does not address  this very old issue!!

How was this not a native function, and why has it not been implemented? Anyone who needs to migrate existing data into another model will invariably need this function. Full stop.

Yes, this is needed:

1. Every time we make improvements to our Revit Project Template, because there is no straightforward way to apply all changes from a new template to an old project file.

2. Every time we do a renovation or tenant finish on an existing project file. It is unbelievable that it won't maintain Phase Created. It is reprehensible that it won't maintain Phase Demolished.
