Beam System Beam Direction Default

When creating a Beam System in the Structural tab and selecting the supporting members, the first member clicked produces the Beam System boundary line and automatically defaults to that being the Beam Direction for that system.  This is never the case; the structural members always run perpendicular to the supporting members.  Every time a system is created, a manual change using the Beam Direction button is needed.  It seems to me these are unnecessary clicks and could easy be avoided by having a little smarter tool that defaults to the perpendicular boundary lines, not the parallel ones.
