The idea to offer a synch and publish function to the synchronize dialogue has been out there for a month and does not take off.
Well another approach would be: Make Revit's homescreen auto-refresh when you get back to it by closing a file. Right now, users save their edits, synchronize them and close the file - only to find that the homescreen had not yet registered that it had just saved a new version requiring users to hit that recycle button to refresh.
