Arc/Circle smoothness by View

Arc/Circle smoothness by View

I have encountered issues with Revit faceting arcs and circles at fine scales in drawings (IE:  3” = 1’-0” or finer). The linework shown in the drawing below is created from rational circles and arcs, yet it both displays and prints as these truncated, segmented arcs:

The only way I’ve found to “resolve” this to date is to split the arcs into shorter segments which is a very cumbersome and time-consuming solution.  This method also requires you to draft over model geometry with filled regions in the event it is impractical to split the geometry itself.

I think Autodesk has decided to limit curve resolution to a certain display scale.  This has been a very annoying and frustrating obstacle to explain to former CAD users.  Perhaps this could be mitigated by allowing users to set the display precision of curves and arc segments on a view by view basis? Just like the "smooth lines with anti-aliasing" feature.

The inability to avoid facetted arcs in filled regions creates problems for 2-D detailing at enlarged scales where display of layered components is critical.  This plus the element too small is a severe impediment to efficient document preparation.
