Align Views on Separate Sheets

Align Views on Separate Sheets

It would be great if there was just a tool that would allow you to align views to a common grid line or point in the model across several sheets. I'm sure everyone has at some point drawn some detail lines and copy pasted them over ten plan views and manually lined each one up. And I've tried Dynamo, but it gets complicated when you have to do a bunch of detail views, and I've tried Macros, but those have to be updated with Revit 2020, is there a plan to add a tool like this?

Big win indeed.

Been using the program for a couple years, every time I run into a problem I end up on this forum. Often find convoluted work arounds to things that seem like no-brainer features the program should have had by default.

To my eyes, plenty of folks appear to be at their wits end with Revit, as the developers appear to disregard the quality of life of the people who use this program day after day. Refreshing to finally see something from Autodesk staff.

The roadmap says it has been released in 2023.1. How does the align view work?

Hi, @jakub5 ,

This particular Idea is still on the roadmap as part of the bigger sheet layout improvements. 2023.1 added the ability to move a view aligned to the same place on a different sheet. I believe that is different than what the original ask is on this Idea.

Hi Kimberly,  yes it is different. Thank you though.

I would like to have Revit do the following:

- place plan views on multiple sheets so they are aligned vertically on each sheet similar to a "light table" usage and similar to when you split a schedule view into multiple parts and place them on multiple sheets.  The schedule parts will be placed perfectly aligned on each sheet.....

Let's make plan views do this as well.

Hi, @dzanta !

Is what you are asking similar to this Accepted Idea? Or more like this one?

yes....that is correct.  Thanks @kimberly_fuhrman-jones
