Add paper size option on DWG Export command

Add paper size option on DWG Export command

I export Revit sheets to Autocad (as per client request), but all the sheets are exported as Autocad layouts on the same paper size (the default printer and default paper size, e.g letter or A4). We need the option to choose what printer and what paper size we need, as sheets' size may vary a lot. Yes, i am willing to export each sheet individually IF i have the option to choose the paper size.

When i export to pdf i use the ProSheets extension and every single sheet gets the right paper size, but exporting to dwg doesn't seem to work the same way.

I have to (re)create every single layout paper size and ctb plot style.

It would be very helpful if Revit could use the DWG to PDF.pc3 configuration file, so we could choose paper size and share custom paper sizes with Autocad.

Just came across this issue. Support said it can't be done, though this seems to indicate there's a way: How to set Sheet size when exporting to DWG - says "SOLVED", but doesn't provide enough information to be useful.

It's a shame that it doesn' work as it should.. In Advance Steel everything is automatic.

Who knows? Maybe after 25% of their clients (who still have perpetual licenses) stop paying them money next year (hopefully), they'll decide to start getting serious about Revit development and fix all the "little things" wrong with it - in an effort to win us back (instead of just adding features we don't use in an effort to try to win new customers, such as fabricators).

Paper size is a general (generic) problem in Revit. The paper size issue goes to whatever you wanna do: 1. paper printing -> you can't even choose a printer from a list !!!! , can print ONLY on the default printer. 2. Pdf-printing or "save as pdf", both have paper size issues if you wanna bulk-print several sheets on different sizes. 3. Dwg export will not keep the paper size.

I personally NEVER seen such software where you can't choose the printer you want from a list. Except for Revit, of course. I can't fathom any insurmountable reason why Revit can't recognize multiple printers. I just wonder: does the same shameful problem goes for 3D printers as well?

Revit absolutely must have this feature. We are wasting a lot of time on this issue.

Hi

It is an old problem that still has no solution. In large projects, deliverables are always requested in native, pdf and cad formats. CAD files, as you know, do not store the paper size or the viewport scales. Is it possible that you can solve it?

Hi,

Please look into this problem seriously and provide an option to set a page size while exporting the Revit Sheet to DWG.

Thanks in advance
