By adding a Load button to the bottom of a family selection dialogue will save time as you normally have to exit what you are busy with, then load the family, then return to the initial task and select the newly loaded family.
As a bonus it might just then default to the correct directory for this family category so you can just select and not browse each time. These family catogory defaults you can set up in the Revit Options. yes you can set up the Library location but go a level deeper and set up Category locations?
