Active Selection Filtering

Active Selection Filtering

If I could set a selection filter to be active as I select items, it would allow me to pick things faster. For example, turning on this active filter I would be able to only select walls and nothing else. Or swap to ceilings only and nothing else. This would reduce the need to filter my selection after and avoid needing to tab endlessly for overlapping edges.

pyrevit offers this already.

Thanks, I'm aware of that. Would still like to see this added to Revit out of the box.

You can Temporary Isolate categories then Select.

Thanks @ToanDN - that is also a good workaround, but takes extra steps. Looking for additional software functionality from Autodesk out of the box, not really looking for a plugin or alternate workflows...

I take it that you want to be able to select one category to work on whilst still retaining the visibility of the other catergories?

Hello

Not so much to say, just improve it.

Whenever you click an object, it never select the thing you want. Always something in the background, or someting with a larger invible parameter.

You can cycle with tab, and you can't switch any option to make it possible.

Autocad knows how to do it

Make a true selection filters window.

Autocad knows how to do it

Pinned IFC and rvt can be selected and moved with a window selection, no matter the pin!

Autocad knows how to do it.

Do the same.

One more thing:

clicking on a connector is impossible if there is and object just behind the grip. Revit will always deselect the object with the connector and select the other object behind.

So stupid...
