Updating linked Consultant model

We are using C4R to work on a project between 2 firms. I am able to link our consultant models but when they give us an update, I can't replace the link without removing the old one. This causes the loss of the view template settings.

Is there a way to "reload from" or update the file?

Thanks,

Barry

you can choose the Reload From command within the Manage Links command to tell Revit to reload it from your A360 Hub site.

That works fine as long as the link is on A360. The consultant doesn't work on A360 so I have to open the file locally and share to A360 from Revit. This process won't over-write the existing file on A360. If I upload to the A360 as a file, I can't see the file in Revit to link it if it has not been shared from Revit.

You are correct.  For anyone who has to work in conjunction with other members who need to author a revit model, they will need to have A360 C4R enabled as a service within their account and assigned to their user profile.  Without this, working in a revit model with C4R is not possible...this applies to any linked Revit models as well.
