Update Cache on Revit Server Accelerator

We have a Revit server infrastructure working quite well and are fairly happy with it.  One of the things we have noticed is when a remote office is not working on a project for a few weeks or so, it takes a bit to load the model for the first time.

I was wondering if there is a way to update the cache on the accelerators automatically every night?

Hi Bill,

I don’t know of a way to do this myself, but I will run this by our development team and let you know what I find out. I probably won’t have a response on this until after the holiday.  And I suspect the answer is no and would be a good thing to post as a Revit Idea.   But I will let you know what I hear back.

And thanks for your awesome work on BIMThoughts and DynamoThoughts. Great stuff! I look forward to each episode!

Thanks for the update and listening to BIMThoughts and DynamoThoughts.

I’ve learned that this should be happening automatically by virtue of the use of Autosync.  So you’ll want to verify that this service is running on your Accelerator.

Also, I noticed another post that suggests that Accelerator/Autosync performance may be improved by ‘deleting the unused project information through Windows Explorer in the cache’: Revit Server Autosync

Just following up.

I have all the servers setup as Accelerator,Host,Admin.

Should I only have the remotes as Accelerators?

Am looking for an answer to what looks like the same question. Autosync, however, doesn't seem to do the trick.
