Switch Docs Model to Desktop Connector?

We have a file that we uploaded to docs already and have been working directly from there. Now we were asked to use Desktop Connector instead. Can someone guide me through the steps to "convert" the file? I tried a save as but then I loose all the linked models and I can't seem to reload them via desktop connector...

If it was working, why do you need Desktop Connector?

Have you added the project to your connector?

Yes. The project is also added to Desktop connector. The problem is that other consultants link our model and see our updates prior to publishing them which is causing issues.

When I try to open the file via Desktop Connector, it says "failed to open document."

Sorry, I've always used the live model in my projects, not the published one. I cannot help you with this part.

Sometimes it is easier to recreate the files correctly using the recommended workflows than it is to reset existing files. Follow Autodesk's recommended procedures for setting up the project from scratch.

Is this a Revit model that you are referring to? If so, did you use "Collaborate in Cloud" when you uploaded it?

yes - its a Revit model and I used collaborate in cloud

Are you recommending to download our file and then setting it up for sharing again in "Collaborate in Cloud" ?

I'm not really recommending anything at this point other than reading up on suggested workflows to verify that what you are doing will get you where you want to be. I'm merely suggesting that your issue may have been in the way it was initially set-up as food for thought.

Good luck!
