Strange Cloud Behavior

Hi Team,

I’ve got a bit of a doozy here and I’m hoping someone may have run into this before.

We have a designer who can access one of our Forma projects through the Forma site and can see all of the project files there. However, when he opens the same project through Revit 2026, the project and folder structure are visible, but the Revit cloud models do not appear.

Here’s where it gets interesting:

  • His project and folder permissions are correct.

  • He can access other Forma projects through Revit 2026 with no issues.

  • Those other projects are with the same client and use the same Revit release.

  • Another designer can access this problem project through Revit 2026, see the missing models, and open them normally.

  • I can also access and open the models from my machine.

  • We have verified that the affected files are legitimate Revit Cloud Workshared models.

So at this point, the issue appears to be specific to this user + this particular project.

I’ve gone through the usual troubleshooting, including clearing the Revit Home/WebBrowserControl cache, Collaboration/Cloud Model cache, and PacCache, followed by a reboot. No change.

I’m currently bringing his Revit 2026/Autodesk components completely up to date, including checking Autodesk Identity Manager, since I’m beginning to wonder if this could be an authentication or update issue rather than a project permissions issue.

Has anyone run into a condition where a user can see a Forma project and its folders in Revit Home, but the cloud models inside a specific project simply don’t appear?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again!

Phil

Hi @pnowerM8PV3

I suspect a Revit 2026 build mismatch. If the cloud models were synced or upgraded using a newer 2026 update, a user on an older build may not see them even though the project and folders are visible. I'd compare Revit build numbers with users who can access the models and make sure the affected user is running the latest Revit 2026 update.

cheers,

Hossein

Thank you Hossein for your reply…

I did look into this R2026 Update Mismatch, based on update release dates I did track down several projects that this scenario would apply… and unfortunately none of them were the solution.

I have a case ticket to Autodesk on this… I’ll see what they have to say. My “Spidey Sense” is telling me that this might be a legit bug in the Forma Software.

Thanks Again

Close Revit on the affected PC, then have that designer use their own account on a known-working workstation. Whether the models appear helps separate account/project access from the original workstation’s environment. Add the result to the Autodesk case. Hope this helps. If it solves the issue, you’re welcome to mark it as a solution so others can find it more easily.

Thank you for your reply… seeing if the condition remains the same with the same user profile on a different machine was one of our first steps…

I have a case ticket with Autodesk Support on this issue, tomorrow I am going to show Autodesk Support just what’s going on. Any feedback I get from this I’ll certainly post here ASAP.

Thanks Again
