Roll Back files from Revit Server

Hello all,

We have a corrupted file on our Revit Server, only one user is working on this file and he overwrote it, now the file doesn’t have a back up.

I was wondering if it is possible to open the file as a "roll back" to a previous point we know the file was working from Revit Server.

 Thanks!!

Do any of the team mates have a local file or local file backup (Documents\[project]_backup) available?  You can either set one of the local files as the new central, or rollback a local backup.  Here's an article to explain the general idea:

Restore a Previous Version of a Server-Based Central Model

In your case, you'll need to open that local copy detached then save as new central, or restore backups from it.

AFIK, Revit Server doesn't handle versioning but maybe someone else can chime in and prove me wrong.

OH nvm I just saw the part of only one user working on the file.  In that case...

Do you have a routine backup procedure?

You might try to save the file from Revit Server locally, then open it detached, discard worksets.  Does it let you in that way?

We were able to open a backup file, the user only lost 6h of work

Great that you got it open! Ah man I really hope that 6h gap wasn't a big loss for you all.
