You have to pay attention to your firewall settings.
Another problem may be that too many people try to synchronize at once. With me something like that happened because of the internet connection.

Try to create new versions of the Revit files on a regular basis.

How do you create new versions? 
Publish the file?

I think the error had to do with the model fetching shared coordinates (and trying to send to .dwg-files?).
The linked files were .dwg files and we had a proper Autodesk Desktop Connector setup.

I lost some work closing the Revit file and then opening the cloud based again. It all worked on the 2nd try.
Is it possible to save your file if something similar happens again with sync error and then sync your local copy to the central cloud based file?
