.rcs, .rcp, .las

I've been giving 3 files to import into a RVT file; .rcs, .las,. rcp.  I see that the size of the .rcs is 0 and when I opened the Revit file, I needed to reload the point cloud.  The original is the .rcp.  It displayed nothing.  I imported the .las the Revit indexed the .las into a new .rcp.  The question I have is does it matter if I import the .las or .rcs?

Is it just the three files, no other sub folders?
