proper way to exit Revit without losing everything?

What is the proper way to exit Revit without losing everything? I don't know when to release or what not.

I have had Revit on sleep mode every time I go home from work LMAO!!

Thank you for your post.  In this case, the best way to exit out, would be to sync with your central model, and then close out of Revit for the evening.  Revit typically does not like long periods of inactivity (Especially if a file is loaded).  Is there a reason you leave this on each night when you leave for the evening, so I may understand the need better?  Please let me know if there are any questions.  Thank you and we look forward to your reply.

I leave it on because I am paranoid. One time I had exited, not knowing or remembering to release or sync and lost all my links and updates.

I am very new to Revit, with a month or so experience but with familiarity with Autodesk products in AutoCAD.

This information is very valuable as there are model updates on the horizon so I want to be the very best I can be, thank you very much Michael!
