Personal Accelerator Bandwidth Issues

We are experiencing major increases in bandwidth across our network.  When analyzing what the source of the issue is, personal accelerator seems to be the culprit.  Is anyone else experiencing issues?

Hi cpercerAYRV4.

Is the increase in activity a steady overall increase, or increases for shorter times that then return to normal? I'm not sure what's causing your increase, but I can explain a bit about the accelerator and maybe that could be of some help. Revit Accelerator has two primary jobs to do, and here's how they might affect accelerator activity:

The accelerator's first job is to keep the local users up-to-date with changes being made elsewhere to models that local users are working on. This is typically background work, like a low steady pulse every few minutes. Large increases would only come about if there were suddenly a lot more models being worked on, and/or lots of changes being made (particularly large changes) to those models, so the accelerator would have to work harder to keep the local users in sync.

The second job the accelerator does is to help Revit download data when needed. If a user opens a model for the first time (i.e. it's not already sync'd), Revit will have to download all the data for that model from scratch. At this time, the accelerator is recruited to help Revit in order to reduce the download time. So, if a user opens a new model for the first time (especially a large, active model), you'll see accelerator activity jump up until the model data is downloaded.

Other than that, bandwidth utilization patterns, and related issues, tend to vary quite a bit, so there aren't many generalities that apply to all (or even most) cases. Resolutions to these kinds of issues tend to be very site-specific.
