Mechanical equipment once placed will report closest intersecting gridlines?

Hi I'm looking for help on this. I'm not a programmer and I do not have a lot of experience in Revit. I can create families but am getting into shared parameters. What I am hoping to do is have every piece of equipment in the model report back what the closest gridlines are. Say A.B-3.4 would mean the equipment is located between columns A and B and columns 3 and 4.

This building has hundreds of equipment and it's a fairly large building on multiple levels so figuring this out so that the closest grid lines would be shown on the schedule (along with typical information cfm, esp, motor hp etc) would go a long way to making this a successful project.

Has one done this before? I've seen one post here that may do the trick and I saw a youtube video in spanish that shows this can be done. I need help to set this up.
