Hi,

To commence a federated model all parties involved need to be in agreement. Either by a BEP along with EIR. There has to be a goal in place.

1- Someone has to dictate coordinates and orientation of project (Primarily the architect)

2- All other discipline need to replicate this on their respective platforms.

3- All disciplines model in their elements with other models linked into them.

4- The BIM Manager dictates the naming of the files and advises when and where to share models.(All in the BEP)

5- All models are shared to the CDE and the Bim Manager downloads and appends the models. This combination of all models is the federated model.

This is a basic workflow but it commences collaboration and coordination.
