Communicator for Revit is not available for the member?

Dear Revit users,

I am still learning about cloud work with Revit.

The Communicator opens when I open Revit and I can open the cloud model itself because I am invited to the team.

However, I cannot use the tool because it just shows me retry button, sorry it is in Japanese, and I cannot see conversations or the record of the synchronized model like below.

Do I need to pay for this function even though I have the right to work on C4R now?

I use both student version and subscribed normal version at my home and work.

I would appreciate if you advise me.

Thanks,

Yuki

Thank you for your posting @ysautodesklover

What is the version of Revit you are using? Is your project on BIM 360 Docs or BIM 360 Team?

If you are working on cloud model, it shouldn't be a licensing issue. Do you see any error messages on the Communicator?

@yurikim Hi,

I use Revit2018.3 for work sharing.

However, I am also using the Student version.

Is that why I cannot use the function??

Thanks,

Yuki

Thank you @ysautodesklover.  I don't believe this is licensing issue as you are already working in C4R model.

Please try this:

Collaboration for Revit: Communicator will not sign in

I am sorry to be late to reply, @yurikim.

I tried the instruction then my pc seems lost connections internet for some reasons.

I might try at home but not in my office though.

I will update if it also doesn't work in different circumstances.

Thanks,

Yuki

Hi, Yuri

When I follow your direction(Collaboration for Revit: Communicator will not sign in), I cannot find 'Local Area Network Setting' in Window 7. Please let me know where it is to finish your direction.

Hi

Working on BIM360 Team of BIM360 Docs?

If Docs, then read the following:

Communicator is evolving

Communicator, the in-context notification and chat tool, will not be available for use with BIM 360 Docs-based cloud worksharing. We are working on replacing essential functionality in future Revit releases.

Source: http://blogs.autodesk.com/revit/2018/04/24/from-collaboration-for-revit-to-bim-360-design-what-the-r...

Can I use the Communicator with BIM 360 Design and Docs?

The Communicator chat tool is not supported with Revit Cloud Worksharing on the next generation BIM 360 platform. As part of your BIM 360 Design subscription, you may continue to use Communicator with Revit 2018.3 and earlier releases in conjunction with BIM 360 Team. Autodesk understands that Communicator addressed certain needs when working in a cloud workshared project, such as sync-with-central status, and they are looking at ways in which they may satisfy these workflow needs in the future.

Design. I hope to see some replacement tool soon Meanwhile, can you let me

FYI, a certain communication tool within revit software should be required. Most global/large-scaled architecture projects are carried by international design firms from different countries.
