A360 Student - Collaboration for Revit

I'm a student and we use Revit Worksharing via Dropbox for some of our group projects but it has it's issues. I notice that Autodesk offers Revit Collaboration which may work better. With the A360 for Students does that include Revit Collaboration? If so, how do I activate it? I've tried a few things but it states I need to buy a subscription service. Thanks.

P.S. I'm using Revit 2015 and I've activated my A360 Subscription both via Autodesk Education.

This is correct for right now, but we're working on Student access as we speak.  A matter of "when", not "if".

Have there been any recent updates with providing student access for revit collaboration?

I'm going to make recomendation on what software to get for our school next year. We use mostly Rhino right now...

I was wondering if there is any information on pricing for "A360 Collaboration for Revit for Students"? I think school teams would be willing to pay a lower fee, like 2-20$ for a monthly servie that allows them to work seperatly from home, perhaps with different tiers depending on model size? Of course, there would be wider adoption if the service is free for students and they come into the workfoce knowing (and preffering) these workflows.

Thanks!

Hello Kyle,

Great to hear that A360 collaboration is coming for students. Any idea when?

I Teach Revit for a few years now on a pre university college in Holland(alfa-college). The level we're at now is quite high but Real Bim collaboration is difficult because we can't set up a NAS in the school network because of security issues, So we tried Dropbox but that's not realy working.

If you need a school to test A360 collaboration for students please contact me. It would be great to not only talk about bim with my students but finally do BIM

Hi Kyle, I am also teaching BIM to our students in Brisbane.  We are having the problems with worksets also.  Are we any closer to having 360 provided for students?  Carolyn

Hello - has there been any progress made with this? As students are increasingly involved in group projects, this would certainly make our lives so much easier. Any chance that this will be possible before I graduate?

Hello - yes we are working on a possible solution and will have an answer by early December. Tx.

Are there any updates on making A360 Collaboration for Revit available for Students?  I teach a couple of Revit classes and while worksharing worked using Dropbox and similar services in the past, now it generally doesn't work at all and students are forced to pass the non-workshared models between them for group projects.  It is very inefficient and frustrating and contrary to the intended workflow for Revit, so it leaves them unprepared for the workplace.  It seems that A360 Collaboration for Revit would resolve this issue, and we are now beyond December, so when will it become available?

Recently started a group project with another colleagues and found out that A360 is not available for students. Is there a way me and my colleagues could access as a student?

Glad a student version is in the works!

Is there a way for my team to get an extended grant for the trial so that we can use revit throughout the semester. We are students in our final year and it requires us to use revit in teams.

Hi! I haven't heard anything and it's January, I hope that my team will be able to get a trial version to collaborate with my partner.

Same here. We are on our final semester of graduate school and we are having problems using collaboration on the school's servers and A360 would be a great solution for us. Something about the server's configuration keeps  giving us a "Central Model Unavailable" error randomly. Having to bypass remote vpn and server mapping would also be convenient.

Thanks

Hello Kyle ( @KyleB_Autodesk,

Some guys here in Brazil ask me about this subject. I don't find any information about changes do allow students to use C4R.

This subject still in the "when" phase?

Thank you very much.

Debra, last April I filled out your application for a grant to use Collaboration for Revit in my class.  I followed up with you twice and you said it is being processed and you'd get back to me but you never did.  So I had to restructure my class project.  So are you actually giving out grants for Educators to use Collaboration for Revit, or was it just a ruse?  I still get constant and I mean constant emails from Autodesk because I signed up for the trial while waiting for said grant and I'm furious every time about how this was handled.
