In one of our jobsite trailers we have one user who has over 1 hour sync times to A360.  The 4 other users in the same trailer sync around 10 minutes.  I checked that's he's not "compacting" when syncing.  I've also verified his ping and internet connection speeds are the same as his coworkers.  Other than that, I don't know what else we can look at.  Anyone, maybe Autodesk have any ideas?

He doesn't have a ton of views open, he's mostly tagging pipe and equipment.

Hi Jason,

Thanks for posting your question to the forum and I moved this to the A360 Drive forum.   Is every one using the same version of AutoCAD and the Desktop Sync?    Can you check to make sure he has all the latest updates for both AutoCAD and Sync.

Also as a test what happens if you right click on the sync icon in the system tray and select Sync now?  Does that go any faster?

Thanks in advance for getting us more details and trying this test.

We're using Revit 2016, and yes, everyone is one the same release and update number.  We monitor this very meticulously.  So we're synciing thru the "Synchronize" settings for Revit as well, there's no available tasktray icron for syncing with Revit..  This isn't a problem with A360 "Drive" it's with project synchronization on A360/BIM360 Team project.

Thanks Jason for the clarification.  Is this Revit Collaboration? There is no sync tool for A360.  Let me know exactly what cloud product this is and I'll move this message to the right forum.

Thanks for getting us more details.

Ok, haha I had to get clarification on our contract.  It's a Collaboration 4 Revit issue.  It's been hard to keep up with the product name changes over the last couple months.

Thanks Jason for the update and I'll move this over to the Revit Collaboration forum. That way the C4R experts can jump in and help with your question.

Thanks again for getting us clarification on what you are using and have a great day.

Hi Jason,

Do you have a journal that captures the slow sync time?  I can analyze and break down the SWC so we can see what step is taking so long.  It might help to have one from one of the users that SWC faster so we have something to compare too.

thanks,

I'm trying to get it now.  We're in the Pacific Northwest and getting a winter storm warning, so a lot of people stayed home today.  I haven't been able to contact the jobsite as of yet.  I will post it as soon as I can.

One other thing to narrow down is that the particular user is running on a very old local state of data, and thus is consuming a major amount of changes from the cloud worksharing service (Reload Latest portion of SWC).  In that case, they might have to restart their process if others are committing changes to the cloud model in the middle of the Reload Latest operation.

The best way to test this theory would be to have the user carry out a Reload Latest command first, and then carry out a SWC operation.

I was able to retrieve the log file.

We'll attempt the 'Reload Latest' as well befoer a sync and see if that helps at all.

That journal file does not contain a SWC operation in the Revit session.  Instead, it indicates a Revit session opening a corrupted model, which is separate from the topic of this thread.  If that's still a problem for that individual user, then we'd recommend you flush that user's local cache of data.  If this is impacting all users than restoring a previous version is the resolution.

If you can get a journal from a Revit session that captures the really slow SWC operation, let us know.
