Revit Server crash - hotfix not working

Our company just recently started having the known issue at our remote offices where Revit 2011 and 2012 crash when saving to Revit Server while it is replicating. After finding the hotfix for this issue we went to each machine and made sure they were all running the latest Revit and Windows updates (all W7Prox64, the servers are 2k8R2), then we applied the hotfix to the servers and every machine. The process was observed very carefully, first confirming updated versions of the software, then backing up the files to be replaced, then replacing them with the hotfix files.

The crashes continue. Possibly somewhat less frequently, it's too soon to tell, but the symptoms are the same.

Anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks,

-Tom

Perhaps something else is causing the crashes--sounds like you have everything else set up correctly.

How large are the files? Could be a memory problem? Or a corrupted family, or something in the file.

Do ALL your projects crash, or just one?

Check Warnings; perhaps do a Detach from Central, and then Audit the file.

Thanks for the response.

It happens on multiple projects that aren't associated with each other and range from very small to very large. I'll try the detatch and audit idea you suggest. I'll also check the warnings to see if that has any clues, but so far this has only been an issue when saving the files so would those warnings really affect that?

Hmm.....

Could be a network problem?

Try to Ping the Central Server, and note latency time in ms. should be under 100; 15-20 ideal.

Any bandwidth hogs running?

Try to stop/start the RS Service on the Local Revit Server as well.

Administrative Tools>Services>Revist Server.............
