Wrapping insulation around inserts

I managed to wrap my insulation around inserts, but I am not satisfied with the result, since now it seems like the insulation cuts the wall structure to achieve the result, instead of wraping in front of the window profile.

Please see my attached picture to better understand my current situation and the desired technical solution I am aiming for.

Any better solution?

Hi, thankyou for your interesting question.

this is achievable in plan view by making changes to the window family.

But how would you achieve the same in a vertical section?

Revit still doesn't allow wall wraps in vertical sections. cut a vertical section at the window and you would see what I mean.

The workaround I use for this is to place a frame of insulation with a parameter within the window family. and i can control the thickness and material of the insulation. Hope that helps.

Wow yes, I haven't thought about this way before, really good solution.

And also you are right about the vertical wrapping.

Unfortunetly, I am new to Revit, especially to the more complex part of it. I tried to edit the family, but it's really complicated. I need to dedicate some more time until I figure it out.

Thank you for the answer!

also note that Wraps (End and Insert) have no real BIM value either. They're basically just "lipstick on a pig".  They don't schedule in QTOs -- and frankly, are just plain nuisances.   Best to model them.

I understand that this is not important to the overall estimate of the project quantities/cost.

However, in my country, this is more about the drawing standard of the plan and section view.
