Hello,

Reload Latest: Downloads the latest updates from others but don't upload your updates.

Synchronise: Downloads the latest updates from others and uploads your updates.

Reload latest loads updates from the central without publishing your changes to the central model. This is more like a single task operation that fetches all synced data and updates your local...this operation, on a decent network and a decent workstation takes 3-10 secs

Synchronize is a multitask operation...saves your changes to the central model, Saves a local copy, Loads all the changes since your last Reload Latest or Sync, Saves a local copy after sync, relinquish worksets and stuff ... Depending on the size of your project this could take some time to be carried out (>30 sec)
