This icon appeared on my desktop with the new install of Revit 2018.
Question 1 - I was under the impression that WSM is not appropriate to server based worksharing - which is what we do. Is that still the case?
Question 2 - any pros and cons?
Thank you!

I think I saw something saying that WSM is no longer and add-in.
As far as I know, WSM does not worked in a server based environment. The communicator does pretty much the same thing and more.
@RobDraw What communicator? I would be interested to know further details.
(Pssst, your signature is showing.)
So, I may have been mistaken. I use Communicator For Revit found in the collaboration tab and thought it also worked for server based projects since they are quite similar. I have not actually worked on a server based project.

the Communicator only applies to Bim 360 Cloud application C4R.
The Worksharing Monitor Addin is a standard part of the Revit 2018 install (previously it had to be installed separately). If all of your projects are Revit server / C4R based then WSM is of no use to you, so you can uninstall the addin (I believe).
