Working with Point Clouds - Revit. Can I reduced displayed points?

Hi,

Is there a way to reduce the number of points displayed on screen when working with point clouds in Revit?

I have large point cloud files to work with and they are causing huge lag in Revit. Is there a way to reduce the amount of points displayed, similar to the way you can in AutoCAD? In CAD I can simply move a slider to display fewer points, a level of detail slider in the point cloud tab. I can't seem to find any similar function in Revit.

I am aware that I can reduce the point cloud itself outside of Revit and then bring it in to Revit after, but this is time consuming. I am working with roughly 400 scans worth of data.

Thanks.

If you are using a ReCap (.rcp) file, it is possible in the Visiblity/Graphics to turn off certain areas of the point cloud. Unless the point cloud is registered with named scan locations, it may be difficult or impossible to tell what area you are turning off. You can also use section boxes to limit the view of the point cloud to the area that you are currently working in.
