Working in Detail 2D views - locking 3D elements

Kia Ora all,

When working in either, sectional or plan detail views, is there a way of locking the 3D elements so the 3D elements cannot be moved, modified or deleted & work with 2D elements only?

This is for a workshared project with more than 20 users & wish to avoid as many 'accidents' as possible.

Any ideas or suggestions are more than welcome.

What about pinning elements or making the workset non-editable?

Yes.  Create a Design Option Set and name it Detailing with one Option.  When you want to work on a detail view then set the Detailing Option active and all model elements will be non-editable and halftoned.

Aren't your elements in worksets?

The central file is being set up by another practice. We use central files from time to time but no enough to learn the finer points of worksets.
