Hi everyone,
At the moment I'm trying to standardize a better workflow between Revit and an online/in-house render engine into my office. This process is OK, but sometimes it takes ages to update to a new version of the project.
At the moment we have the strategy of export a Revit model into Rhino, apply materials in there and export to Felix (online) to render our final images.
- I am wondering if there is a way to export my Revit materials into Rhino layers?
- If you have any other way that you find faster/better in a way, please let me know.
Thanks,
Martim
Revit is pretty limited with materials (e.g. no UV mapping). we do very little with materials in Revit, other than making them like they should in elevations and naming them correctly.
We use 3ds Max to render out our scenes and have built a material library there, I'm not very familiar with Rhino but I assume you can do the same there. I wouldn't bother wasting time adding materials in Revit because they'll never render out good in Rhino.
Hey,
I think I have used a plugin for similar issue of material while transferring files from Revit to Rhino. These plugins are the BIMDeX plugins. It worked fine for me. You can check them as well
