work plane based family

I am having trouble attaching work plane based components to walls.  Example; when I attempt to attach grab bars or mirrors to walls they only recognize the floor.

Which family template did you use, it sounds like you may have used a Floor Based one if your components will only attach to the floor...

If you want it to attach to floors and walls you'd be best using a face based family.

If you can post a family it would be easier to tell.

They're actually taken from Seek, the grab bars are Bobrick and they are a work-plane based family and the mirrors are also Bobrick and are work-plane based.  They attached as you would expect them to after initially loading them into the project but now they will only attach to floors.

I don't see the Bobrick families...but I do see Bradley and they are face based families.  When you go to place them there is a placement panel on the Ribbon on the Modify tab that will allow you to switch the workplane.

Being on Seek is sadly no guarantee of quality or fitness for purpose...

Follow what @Revit_Whisperer has suggested and see if that helps.
