wood shakes on wall sweep upside down

I will soon be doing a shingle style house where the wall flares at the base. In preparation for this project I am trying to create the base flare. I have done that using a sweep. However, when I "paint" the flare with the wood shakes - the shakes are placed upside down. I found a post from 2006 with the same issue- but the solution given doesn't work- frustrated me for a while until I looked at the zip file that was attached to the post -they used a generic 8" wall where the structure was the wood shakes - so the shakes were shown on both the exterior & interior faces of the wall.

I however need to use the Basic Wall- Exterior-wood shingle on wood stud -as I need a drywall finish on the interior. I will be working this project in Revit 2015.

Does anyone have a solution for getting the wood shakes in the correct orientation (not upside down)? Also I am not able to align the shakes on my sweep to the shakes on the wall above - and I get a line defining where the sweep joins the wall.

Any assistance I can get with this is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Try enabling a Surface pattern "MAKE SURE IT'S MODEL PATTERN NOT A DRAFTING ONE"

It will link the appearance with the pattern and you will get the controle to make it oriented in any way you want.

Hi, I've recieved your E-Mail,
The workaround is simple.

Go to the profile of the flare you've drawn, then trace an Spline on the Curve, and after that delete the curve which will be no longer needed.

Reload the profile to the project and then. you will gain the ability to modify the pattern of the wood shake which is painted on the flare,
This is done by tabbing into the pattern and grabbing any thing of it then, You can rotate it. you can move it, you can align it with other edges.

Info :Revit simply treats curves in a way that it doesn't give you such flexibility, however when it comes to Splines, the flexibility is unlimited.

Good Luck.
