Anyone have a wire mesh material or know where I can find one that renders? I have some railings in a couple of views that have wire mesh. When I render the view the material for the rendering looks translucent and does look anything like a mesh. I tried to edit the material with some of the preloaded cutout shapes and they not close to what the mesh looks like. Custom allows me to bring in an image material but I can seem to find anything good.
Thank you.

you can use a metal material with Cutout parameter activated - that uses an alpha map (transparencies)
You have to be aware that black means completely transparent , while white is completely opaque ....different shades of grey - are different levels of transparencies.
In my video I shown how to make a mesh material using procedural maps , otherwise you can use mapped bitmaps for a special design ( attached you can find several black and white - bitmaps that can be use as cutouts )

Thank you Constantin Stroescu. Those images you had attached help a lot.
Hi Constantin, how are you? You referenced a video in your response - where can I din it?
Thanks,
Marianna
as the old video has lost , I've made a rough new one the shows how to work with procedural maps..

Help! I followed this tutorial and changed my baluster material but it will not change in Enscape! Even assigned a global parameter to it and did not help. Any advice?
Procedural materials are Revit only. Either change the material to use a cutout map, or create the material directly in Enscape.
