Window Tags of Linked Models - Sequential

I'm fairly new to Revit, we are working on a townhome project with 19 units total in 2 buildings on 1 site. Each unit is linked into the specific building model, then the building models are linked into an overall site model.

In the Site Model I want to tag all of the windows and then produce a schedule with each window having a unique (non-repeating) number. Currently the window tags are showing repeated numbers.

I know that I can go into each unit model and individually change the Mark for each window to have them populate into the schedule, however this would take a long time and not be helpful down the road when we potentially add windows.

Is there a way to tell Revit to start the Mark number at 1 for the first tag I place (and then sequentially increase) no matter what the window mark is within the unit model? Or is there a way to edit the window family so that within my Site Model the tags will assign unique mark numbers to each window?

Ideally the tag marks would be in order too, so that as you look for Window 06 it would be in between or near Windows 05 and 07.

Again, I'm fairly new to Revit and am not well versed in how to customize/create shared parameters in families.

Thanks,

that would typically be set up while placing the first window

number that 1st instance and place another and the sequence begins

this applies to rooms and doors as well.

But no way to do it after placing the windows? Without going through individually?

Do you have access to Imaginit Utilities? They have this awesome Renumber tool that will do exactly what you want.

Ideate Apps also has a Renumber tool

unfortunately no

you could set up a schedule and filter by level and assign them in the schedule

I know its not ideal but I have used this method to organize my models in the past

No.  Window Mark information (and any other parameters) are from the linked model.  Tagging them in the host is for reporting only, you cannot change any of the information.

You need to renumber them in each link files.
