Window sizes

I am having some trouble with windows and the frames that surround them in Revit. On my floor plan, I have a window that is 43" wide. However, in an elevation view, the window I have is about 3 in wider due to the frame that surrounds it. How can I change the window so that the unit itself and the frame together measure out to 43"?

Thanks!

  1. In the floor plan you are measuring the opening,
  2. in the elevation you are measuring Openings + Frames
  3. The frame does not show in the Floor plans

=> If the width parameter is driving the opening width and you want the frame included, Edit the family and revise the constraints and parameters...

If you do not know how to do that, upload the family and someone might have spare time to help you with it

Do you want the trim to show in Plan? It may be Visible by changing the View Detail Level to "Fine". If not, you can make it Visible by changing the Trim Geometry's Visibility Settings in the Family.

@bwalchle

Your window has a trim only showing on the elevation/3d, not on plan.  4' - 3" is the opening width, 4' - 6 1/2" is the overall width including the trim.
