Window materials don't showing in plan view

Hi everyone,

i'm having some problems with a window that i take from the revit library. I don't understand why it doesn't showing materials/colours that i have assigned to every component of the window in the plan view. I can see them in section  in elevation or in 3d view but not in the plan view.

The only thing that i noticed is that the window has every component nested. Can someone help me to understand why? finestra pianta.JPGfinestra sezione.JPG

The Window Geometry isn't Visible in Plan/RCP View. What you are seeing in Plan View is Symbolic Linework and Masking Region.

...actually, the Plan View is showing a Detail Item Family.  Again, the geometry is not visible in Plan/RCP.

Sure, change the Visibility Settings of the Geometry (e.g. check Plan/RCP) and get rid of the Detail Item Family.

See screenshots I added to my first post.

depending on the family your using, it may be a Nested Family used to display only linework and mask out the model content. you can edit the family as @barthbradley shows above and remove the nested family, but you will likely loose your swings.

the image on the left is the family where i moved the nested family. the image on the right is the same window in a wall. you will possibly need to select each element in the family and change the Visibility settings to display in Plan view as well.

i followed your instructions but now i have another problem :grinsendes_Gesicht_mit_Schweißperlen:. Now when i load the family inside a project it doesn't shows the lines that compose the windows frame. i re-finestra pianta.JPGfinestra 3d.JPGattach the family if someone want to check.

Set the nested family to Shared.
