Window Family Rendering without set colors

I modeled a window with trim family and loaded it into a project. The material color for the widow frame and trim are change once imported into the project. I have tried changing the rendering settings for both the window family and the wall that the window sits in with no luck. Any suggestions?

You might have changed the properties of the material in the main file so when you load the family into the project it automatically gets these settings for the material. I would suggest to put a material parameter to the frame and to the trim in the family file. Load it to the project and assign whatever material you want.

do the following:

1.  assign the material to the object within the family file itself

2.  load it into the project and replace any existing windows used

3.  go to the material of the window within the Project and verify it is the same

4.  render a small sample area again.
