Hi! i have created on a project windows that serve/iluminates two rooms at the same time:
This seems logical since on site it will be like that: one window for two rooms.
Problem: We need to run calculations about the lighting and the ventilation on all rooms but it seems like one window can only have one Room Calculation Point.
From the city office (its a public project) the bim manager prefers not to change them into two different windows together because its less in line with reality, counts and on site work. I can think on different ways to create separated calculations for each window using parameters but not a way to link those to different rooms since the window itself can only be linked to one room.
Any ideas? thanks!
I cannot see how you can get around this using a Generic Window Family, the only option i can think of if to have 2 separate windows and group them or create an assembly of some sort so you have have 2 individual room Room Point references
Nest 2 shared windows in the main window family then you can assign each to one room. Tag and schedule the main window only.
yes, your post made me think of nested families and then the next response confirmed it could work
i'll try now and hopefully it works.
Thanks!
