Window & Curtain Walling Schedule

Hello Everyone,

To start off with, I've had to tag windows and curtain walling panels as a multi-tag catergory that I have made myself.

This is because some of the windows are windows, however some of the windows have been drawn as Curtain Walling panels.

When it comes to making a schedule, I don't really know what I have to do to display both the Windows that are Windows and the Curtain Walling that are windows on the same schedule.

Looking for a way out of this so I don't have to redraw all the Curtain Walling Panels so that they are actually a Window families. Time is a massive constraint on this project so any solution on how to make a schedule with just windows and curtain walling would be much appreciated.

Like I said previously I have tagged Windows and Curtain Walling as a multi cat tag. (thought I'd mention again as I'm hoping that the solution could follow on from this..). I have tried to create a schedule using the Multi-Cat option but It just doesn't seem to be working / I'm not fully understanding what I actually have to do...

Many Thanks,

Declan Crawley

Curtain Panels family has 3 categories...Panel/Door/Window

You don't have to remodel the whole thing. If you just edit the family of those panels which are windows and change category to window; they should show in the window schedule along with the other windows...same applies to CP which are doors

PS:

1. they would still show under the panels schedule

2. They won't have all those parameters which are in the standard window family; unless u are using a shared/nested window into the curtain panel family with shared parameters

cheers

If you can replace the curtain wall panels with curtain wall windows then they should be scheduled along with regular punch windows.  It should be very easy if all panels need to be replaced, just edit the curtain wall type and change the panel definition.  It will take more time if only selected panels need to be replaced, as you will need to hand pick them, but it shouldn't be too terrible.

The thing is the supplier wont be manufacturing just the window infill of the curtain wall. They will manufacture the whole assembly. Typically you would send a drawing/schedule with all the aluminium fittings to them in one nice schedule with elevations/plans sections etc all listed together. Revit however insists on us splitting it up into the 3 categories of doors, windows and curtain walls. Whats more we cant even schedule the curtain wall assembly in totality as it insists on splitting it up into components. Nor can produce elevations of the assembly in a legend.

I thought that I had found a makeshift solution by using assemblies only to find that i cant properly dimension the curtain walls as Revit will not allow me to snap to the curtain wall grid.

Revit has an uncanny way of consistently making me feel like im a moron.
