Why is "realistic" so dark

Hi, When I go into realistic mode everything is so dark that I can't see what I am doing. When I switch on "enable photographic exposure" in graphic Display Options it makes the bricks at least visible but they are washed out. So the red brick I am trying to bring into my project from the library, which looks red in the library, looks brown. I don't want to see brown bricks. Bricks in revit's wall types look pink and mauve. Can anybody help me to get walls on my screen which look like red brick? Ideally very similar to the colour in the library and similar to how they will render.

Thanks

It's all about Lighting -- pretty much like in real life.  It is better when you change the angle/direction of the view?  Play with the Lighting Settings. Maybe, turn on your Sun Path and see where the Sun is located. You can even drag the Sun on its path to reposition it.
