why families don't open?

nothing happens after clicking open. why?

where did you get your family? it could be in higher version of revit? or your family file is corrupted? or share you file here so we can check. thanks

but from File> project, the families do not open

@Anonymous- make sure you have selected all supported files when opening models. opening families is restricted to rfa's. In my Revit 2021 everything is working like it should.

in Family creation screen choose family category, Down you can find Cut with Model or cut with Void,

this method let u cut in ur geometry not in linked geometry, i have tested this method before.

File>Open - Allows the opening of any Revit file.

File>[Open]>Project - Allows the opening of project files only.

the only thing placed in the Progetto1 file you uploaded are 4 walls. Walls are System Families (like Ceilings and Floors) and will not "Open" like a Loadable/Component family.

ok, so i'm a little confused. What are you trying to do.

• if your trying to EDIT a family follow the steps @RobDraw spelled out.
• if your trying to load a family to use, use the Insert > Load Family option to load a family
  • then use the appropriate tool to place it or pick it from the Project Browser > Families category
  • once a family is placed, you can pick the family and you will get the Edit Family option in the Ribbon.
