Hi @Anonymous , I am using curtain wall because our work is insullated panel. It's a series connection between each other. Each piece W=900 mm. But we also use the door which has wide more than W900, so somtimes I cannot place it in a fully panel. Do you have any other idea for this matter?

Thank you very much!

You can remove parts of the curtain grids to form larger panels in places.  I have done that here.

Hi @Anonymous

Because our panel wide is W900, so I would like to keep the joint line at the under and above of window & door also. I cannot move curtain grids because it will change the panel wide.

Thank you very much for your time. Please help me another idea!

Are you looking to issue fabrication drawings for each individual panel? In that case, why not use generic models instead of curtainwall?

Join the Basic Wall Panels at the Grid Line. Should fully cut both.

...unless of course you have a Mullion there.  Then it won't cut through both.

Add a Rectangular Opening to cut the other wall panel.

 Hi @jacques

It need to use curtain wall instead of generic models, because I have to creat the wide dimension for each panels. Like bellowing attached. Using the generic model cannot creat a dim on the plan view like autoCAD.

Hi anh Toan

I thought as your idea yesterday. It takes so much time to revise when receive new informatioin from customer. I tried to make another family by using array generic models, but it does not like a basic wall family. I can place only straight walls.  Could you take a look at the attached? It's not good, so I think the curtain wall is more better.

Thank you very much!

Hello guys,

I was reading this post because I have the exact same issue.

Did you find a way to get through this problem of dois and windows not cutting more than one panel in curtain walls?

thank so much in advance for your help!

Hi @afonsolmnsilva
Actually until now I have no idea for this solution yet. We have been trying to change to use generic wall instead of curtain wall and using the way to split generic wall into parts instead of using curtain wall. it's perfect way with generic wall with part option.
Give it a try on it?

use Void to cut wall

azadNanva_0-1720511080959.png

check the "Cut with void When Loaded:

use CUT for each panel:

Hello @azad.Nanva

Thanks for your reply.

I just inserted a void inside the window family (and i tried it also in a dorr family) (and i checked the box to cut when loaded). However, the void still does not cut the curtain wall when i load it in the revit file. It just cuts a single panel.

Can you help solve this issue? Maybe show me a video of your workaround / walkthrouht process please?

Hi Guys,

Thank you for your time and video.

It actually does not work with simple cut geometry. With my curtain wall panels, i just did this simple process and it worked perfectly:

1. Create a void inside family.

2. Check box 'Cut when loaded'

3. Insert the window/door family in the curtain wall (between 2 panels or more)

4. It just cuts 1 single panel

5. Select 'Join Geometry' and pick the two panels. You will see that the void will now cut the 2 panels, however the 'join/curtain wall grid' line will disappear.

6. Dont worry, select Unjoin Geometry and select the two panels again. You will see now that the 'join/curtain wall grid' will appear again and the two panel will still be cuted in the geometry of the window/door you inserted.
