Why does Revit keep joining these line ends?

See attached screen capture video.
Is this because both lines are constrained to the same outline of an object? (I'm trying to get these lines to stay attached to the corners when the dimensions of the cabinet flex via instance parameters, hence the constraints)... Why would Revit auto-join them like this?
